We are delighted to announce that The Mighty Popo has joined the Borealis family of artists. Popo’s first acoustic album “Gakondo” is written solely in Kinyarwanda, Rwanda’s only indigenous language. The title means origins or tradition in Rwandan, and on the recording Popo has taken a journey of discovery to his Burundian/Rwandan roots. Released independently in 2010 Gakondo was nominated for a JUNO award, for Best World Music Recording.
To say the music on “Gakondo” is inspiring would be a huge understatement.
