When Annabelle Chvostek joined the Wailin’ Jennys in 2004, the rest of the world found out what a number of Canadian fans had known for several years: that Chvostek is one formidable songwriter.

On Rise Annabelle brings us a rousing celebration of recent grassroots uprisings in Canada and around the world – complete with Montréal style casseroles, a “peoples’ chorus” and a cover of Peter Tosh’s “Equal Rights.” This is topical music from a fearless and mature songwriter.
