Drive
Night Sun
CD BCD166
Based in Kingston Ontario,
Night Sun is known for eclectic, invigorating acoustic music and superbly crafted songs. Critical accolades abound
for their musicianship, song-writing and dynamic stage presence. Weaving clarinet, mandolin, guitars, keyboards,
bass, percussion and passionate vocals into an enchanting melange, Night Sun’ music could be described as “folk-jazz-klez-grass”.
Drive is Night Sun’s fifth CD since their origins on Baffin Island in the early 90’s, and the first to be released
from their own studio: Leopard Frog Studio. Taking a noticeable step towards blues and jazz, with original music
written primarily by Ellen Hamilton, this CD features Night Sun’s first recorded cover, a song by Woody Guthrie.
Produced by Chris Coleman and Ellen Hamilton.
"Give up trying to label this band and just fall in with the music."
