STUDIO QUALITY HI-RES ALBUM DOWNLOADS

High Resolution Downloads

Hi and thanks for coming to check out our high resolution audio option.
This is a new venture for us here at Borealis and it is one that has been driven by a number of folks asking if we could make available higher resolution downloads of their favourite music. We realize that as more music lovers use their computers as a resource for gathering music that many of you want to be able to download the highest quality audio possible.

We have started this venture by offering re-mastered versions of Stan Rogers’ original five recordings. This process started with Stan’s producer Paul Mills having the original master tapes digitized and mastered at 24 bit/96khz. The results are stunning and as one who was at the original sessions I can attest to the fact that it is like listening to the music, just as it was recorded in the studio.

Now we’re adding hi-res versions of Annabelle Chvostek’s “Rise” and Le Vent du Nord’s “Tromper le temps” We’ll keep adding more hi-res album downloads over the coming months and we’ll be listing them here as they become available.

As we move forward we will be making the entire Borealis catalogue available as downloads at 16bit/44.1khz files (CD resolution) We will also maintain the option of downloading our music as MP3s at 192kbps for folks that want the convenience of the MP3 format.

Needless to say the uploading and storage of high resolution audio files requires time and takes up considerably more space on our server. For that reason we are charging $25.00.

As this is new territory for us at Borealis we encourage any and all feedback. We know that having read this far you are no doubt interested in higher fidelity playback options and your opinions will be taken very seriously at our end.
