BOREALIS WELCOMES ANNABELLE CHVOSTEK TO THE ROSTER

Annabelle ChvostekWhen Annabelle Chvostek joined the Wailin' Jennys in 2004, the rest of the world found out what a grassroots network of Canadian roots fans had known for several years: that Chvostek is a formidable songwriter, a versatile multi-instrumentalist, and a fearless and innovative artist whose beguiling left-of-centre compositions straddle the divide between mainstream roots and acoustic indie pop. Annabelle's first release with Borealis is "Resilience" and apart from containing twelve brilliant new songs the album also features a QuickTime video of the title track.

One More RoundWe are pleased to welcome Enoch to our musical family and look forward to celebrating the launch of his new CD "One More Round" at Toronto's Arts & Letters Club May 10th.

Raised in working class Glasgow where he learned the traditional songs, Enoch later moved to London where along with Ewan McColl and Peggy Seeger he founded the Singers Club. Now some 42 years after moving to Canada Enoch's music remains as vital as ever. While his songs are deeply rooted in the traditional Scottish style, Enoch's natural storytelling style is complemented by a ferocious wit and a natural warmth that makes him one of the most compelling performers on the folk scene.

Enoch is accompanied on “One More Round” by Kelly Hood (uilleann pipes) and Pat Simmonds (accordion, fiddle and guitar). Both musicians will join Enoch for the Toronto launch of “One More Round.”

CD Launch – “One More Round”
The Arts & Letters Club, 14 Elm St. – Toronto
