Enoch Kent - Take A Trip With Me

“Take A Trip With Me” is Enoch’s second album for Borealis and true to form, as he has in the past with Ewan McColl and Peggy Seeger, he paints a picture of contemporary social conditions. Whether through traditional tunes or songs he may have penned last week, Enoch’s music remains topical and is always to the point. In his own words: “Most of us need very little coaxing to imagine scenes from the words in traditional or modern ballads. At best, these songs are creative non-fiction. Rather like your history books in school that were written by authors who were not present at famous events, but with their knowledge they compiled scenes to feed our imagination and leave a mark on our memories. I think the songs on the CD will feed your imagination and it's your imagination that matters. In compiling and writing this CD. I kept in mind that my kind of folk music doesn't offer solutions. It asks me and you to share in observing a condition or situation that affects our equals in the past and today. My music started at the kitchen table, as did my real education. School gave me the required academic drive. My father gave me his outlook on what was fair and what wasn't and illustrated that with songs. I'm a lucky man to have had all of that and I'm very happy to pass it along”. – Enoch Kent Enoch can be seen in conversation with Bill Garrett at the Borealis YouTube Channel.
