Oliver Schroer - Camino
Camino features solo violin and ambient recordings from the Camino de Santiago, a musical and photographic record of the 1,000- kilometre trek, an ancient pilgrim trail that meanders across France and Spain. In his pack, Oliver Schroer carried his violin and a portable recording studio. When he found a church or cathedral that was acoustically enticing, Oliver played and recorded in these spectacular sonic spaces - 25 different churches in two months of walking.
Fusion of fiddling traditions with the architectural, string-crossing music of Bach’s solo violin works.

An utterly beautiful, contemplative CD. It transports listeners to another place and time.
